COUNTRIES VISITED:Antarctica, Argentina
PLACES VISITED:Antarctica, Buenos Aires, Ushuaia
SUGGESTED DURATION:4 Days
So, where to go next? For me, it was Antarctica. At the beginning, I was not too happy with the idea, just because I do not like cold weather, but my husband insisted to take an expedition cruise to Antarctica from Argentina at the end of January, just 1 day after my birthday, for sure, the best time of the year to visit South America. We booked our trip with Viking. Planning the trip was very easy since I knew where to stay in Buenos Aires and the itinerary provided by Viking included the transfers from Buenos Aires to Ushuaia and back. Ushuaia is the last town in South America and it is where most expedition cruises to Antarctica originate. I had a great time and really enjoyed this adventure, definitively a trip of a lifetime.

10 night cruise to Antarctica
The view leaving Ushuaia and "Tierra del Fuego" is breathtaking. You will go thru 2 countries with no clear boundaries. Sail the Drake Passage to explore the "Last Continent", teeming with penguins, seals, whales and other wildlife. During the cruise, we had opportunities to explore the shores with zodiac landings and enjoy the scenery with special operations boat and kayaks. We also had the opportunity to drop 300 feet below the surface on the special submarine.
HIGHLIGHTS:
Book all activities on line before the trip.

FINAL THOUGHTS
I hope you enjoyed my trip as much as I did.
