I have 9 years of leadership experience in travel and tourism split between destination management and vacation planning. More importantly, I have more than 20 years of experience as a student of responsible, experiential travel. From diving on the Great Barrier Reef to surfing in Costa Rica, I've done it and I can help you plan it. Unlike many other agents, I am not a sit on the beach vacationer. I love to immerse myself in the culture and the environment wherever I go. Beyond my more active pursuits, I always seek authentic interactions with local people and opportunities to gain insight into my destination. While I'm not opposed to an occasional museum, I much prefer local artisans with whom I can converse and feel good about supporting financially. I also love culinary experiences while traveling. As a lifelong vegetarian this can be tricky, but often not as much you would think, and of course local beers and wines must be tried! I always travel with my family these days but I've also traveled extensively as a solo traveler, often on a budget, so I understand your needs. Also unlike many agents, I won't force you into a pre-packaged vacation option to save myself time. As a former project manager and program director, I take a very methodical and collaborative approach to vacation planning with my clients. I'll work with you to design a completely customized vacation. As a former educator, I see it as an extension of my job to guide you through the entire process as well as to provide insight into your destination.
