Are you one of the millions of Americans descended from Italian immigrants? My passion for traveling to Italy began when I planned a family trip to visit our relatives still living in Sicily. With only stories to start with, the Internet helped me locate our relatives living near Palermo. With the help of a translator, we were able to contact them and, ultimately, spent an entire day together learning about and visiting where our family had come from in Isnello, Sicily. We also gathered several generations of family ancestry from the local government office. We came home with our hearts bursting and so many stories to tell. Now, as a travel agent, I help others connect with their families or ancestral cities in Italy. This is probably the most rewarding part of my work.
