“We must go beyond textbooks, go out into the bypaths and untrodden depths of the wilderness and travel and explore and tell the world the glories of our journey.” This quote from John Hope Franklin I think summarizes my approach to travel. Ever since my first solo plane ride as a young child, I have been fascinated and energized by the opportunity to travel. In 36 years as an educator, I have been fortunate to travel around the world and have some fantastic experiences organizing and leading trips, whether for personal travel, participating in educational exchanges, or leading groups on trips. I am passionate (perhaps to the point of obsession) about focusing on details and meticulous planning to make the experience unique, deeply meaningful, and enjoyable.
