A classic Bear Adventures group excursion in Costa Rica. First, we stop at Arenal Volcano and take in the natural hot springs in a luxury hotel setting. Adventure there includes zip lining, rappelling and canyoning, and a short hike around the volcano. Half way through the week, we move our way west through Guanacaste to the Pacific Ocean. Time at the beach and a river rafting adventure await while you relax in a luxury beach resort with a pool and spa.

Fly to Liberia, Costa Rica
Depending on your departure city, this may be a 1 or 2 day journey. Your arrival will coordinate with Day 1 of your Adventure. You will be met by local transportation (or, if flying in with our group from Phoenix, you'll be accompanied.) Transfer included to your hotel in Arenal. After check-in, you have leisure time at the hotel.

Arenal Volcano Hike and Baldi Hot Springs
Your driver will pick you up at your hotel and take you to experience a beautiful hike through Arenal Volcano National Park. Your English-speaking tour guide will drive you towards the western side of the volcano. Once there, you will hike on a trail traversing the rainforest crossing over a large lava flow. You will climb high enough to have a great view of the Arenal Lake & Volcano. During the tour, the guide will provide you information regarding the history of the majestic mountain and how the volcano impacted the area. After the hike, you will visit the natural mineral pools of Baldi Hot Springs. Spend the off-time relaxing in 25 thermal water pools ranging in temperature from 93º to 152º F (34º to 66º C). Enjoy optional spa services, swim up bars, and finish the evening with dinner at the complex. After dinner, the driver will be ready to take you back to the hotel.

Ziplining Canopy Tour
Your driver will pick you up at your hotel and take you to enjoy a fantastic canopy tour in the La Fortuna area with amazing views of the Arenal Volcano and the surrounding area. You will be ziplining through the Arenal Conservation Area. Ziplining above the tree canopy will not only offer you a thrill, but it will also offer you the opportunity to observe wildlife in its natural habitat. Your tour will begin with a warm welcome and brief safety speech. After that, you'll get your equipment for the adventure you're about to take. You'll enjoy the thrilling aerial adventure of approximately 3 km, starting from a tower 13 meters high and glide your way down 8 cables made with the best galvanized stainless steel, ranging form 80 meters to 750 meters in length, with an average height of 38 meters off the ground. Speeds will top 60km per hour!

Rappelling and Canyoning Adventure Tour
After breakfast, your driver will pick you up at your hotel and drive up a mountain in an open air 4x4 truck and enjoy views of the nearby towns and the Arenal Volcano. When you reach the canyon, your tour guide will provide you with all the necessary equipment and a safety briefing. You will then be led on a short hike through the gorgeous rainforest trail that provides just a taste of what you are about to experience. Keep your eyes open for a chance to see toucans, sloths, monkeys, and other exotic wildlife. At the end of the trail you will dive right into canyoning with the first and highest rappel! Your tour guide will make you feel right at home and safe every step of the way. From there, several other canyon activities like rappelling, rock climbing, and the famous "Monkey Drop" follow. After canyoning, you will head back to headquarters and the gardens to enjoy a delicious organic Costa Rican lunch.

From Arenal to Guanacaste on the Pacific Ocean
We will transport you west onto the shore of the Pacific Ocean beach of Tamarindo for another 3 nights of luxury adventure. After arrival and check-in, you'll have time to enjoy the sea breeze, the ocean and do any optional tours or spa treatments available.

Rafting the Colorado River
The Colorado River is located in a little town called Curubande on the slopes of the volcano Rincon de La Vieja. Enjoy a forty-five minute to one-hour rafting journey down the Colorado River. You'll get to see the natural and impressive canyon in this unforgettable scenery. Then relax at the amazing swimming holes on this particular river. Rafting is CLASS II, III (No experience necessary). Because of the infrastructure of the river, this tour is done in rafts with capacity of 2 passengers each.

Enjoy your leisure time at the pool or swim on the beach of your resort. Or, if you choose to, take an optional tour of your choice or get spa services. You can also walk around town and discover what Tamarindo has to offer.

Goodbye Costa Rica!
We transport you back to the Liberia, Costa Rica airport for your international departure back home. Based on your location, this may be a 1 or 2 day journey that starts on Day 8 of your Bear Adventure. International airport authorities and airlines recommend all passengers arrive at the airport 3 hours before their scheduled flight departure. Costa Rica bids you farewell until next time! Pura Vida!
